When it comes to crafting the perfect summer time playlist, you need a blend of songs. Of course you will need your pump-up jams to get the party started and people out onto the dance floor, but like all great things, there needs to be balance. Amongst the party starters needs to be slower tempo songs but this is where the art form of curating the perfect playlist comes into play. You will need a song that is slower yet does not slow the party down. You will need a fun, happy, care-free track that keeps the party alive but also gives people a chance to breathe. One song that exemplifies this is “Oola Hooora” by Seean Tweedly.

This song reminds us of why summer is such a great season. It is easy going with the melody, primarily relying on an acoustic guitar riff that is deliciously catchy. It is the type of melody that sticks with you and inspires people to ask about the song, wanting to add it to their own playlists.

From there, the song stays on track not really trying to branch off too much which I greatly appreciate. I like to think of this song as a great burger. It does not need to be fancy or overly-complicated: simple done well is always better than fancy doing wrong in my book. But what really makes this song in my opinion is the chorus. It has a great call back section that calls to you, inviting you to sing along to the “oola”s and “hoora”s.

You can tell that Seean Tweedly was having fun writing and recording this song, which is transposed to the track itself. I think that is one of the reasons that this song is such a great one to listen to. It is easy listening at its finest and the perfect song for those summer parties coming up.
