GINAxC’s album My DNA takes you back to the early 2000s club scene. The whole album makes you want to dance the night away, without a care in the world. Minus the ballad, each song has a well crafted beat. This is what made me love songs like “Intoxication” and “Secret Little World”. Amongst a world full of chaos and uncertainty, GINAxC provides an upbeat album that makes our worries melt away. But this album isn’t just about having fun. She features lyrics that cover the full gambit of human emotions throughout all of the songs. From sexy flings to gut-wrenching heart-break, GINAxC has a song for whatever emotion you are feeling.

It’s an album that combines up-beat melodies with universal themes of empowerment and reflection, resulting in a musical diverse album and one that deserves to be put on repeat–especially if you are about to go out for a night on the town. One track does stand out from these though and that is “Growing with You.” 

This is a beautiful ballad, telling the struggles of life post heartbreak. It’s a painful song but one that speaks to the human soul about the realities of losing someone close. It is a large departure from the rest of the songs on the album musically as this is a piano carrying the melody and not much else. I love this move as it gives the listener a reprieve. It feels like stepping out of the club for some fresh air and, once recovered, we head back in to dance the night away.

GINAxC is a creative power house. From painting to modeling and music production, she is honestly a Renaissance woman. Her music is raw, bold, sexy, and wonderful. She has stepped onto the musical stage fashionable with My DNA and I for one know that I’ll be playing it!
