Each Measure Feature: BoogieWho
FEATURE
When I listen to a new album, I often think of what scene best accompanies the sound. So, for example, a soul-searching indie folk album is connected to a late-night drive down an empty road while a heavy rock album is connected to a concert filled with energy. That being said, when I listen to BookieWho’s EP LONDON mixtape, I imagine a house party that has gone late into the night. This album is perfect for this scene where everyone has been having a great time and now it is all starting to chill out just a bit.
The beats on all of the tracks are subtly catchy without shoving it in your face. BookieWho is not trying to follow the industry formula, instead he is seeking out his own musical path, resulting in delightfully unique beats. To this end, his flow with the lyrics is smooth. It is as if each song is an invitation to zone out for a moment, leaving the worries of the world behind as you vibe to the songs.
To this point, every song hits the same vibe making this an excellent EP to just throw on shuffle. There is not a single song you will want to skip which speaks highly of the production quality throughout all of the tracks. And while this is a chill out type of EP, BoogieWho hits on some real emotions with the lyrics. He talks about everything from success to heartbreak across this EP just further proving that this EP has got it all!
If BoogieWho keeps up with producing tracks like these, he is going to be an artist to watch for sure in the future.
