Each Measure Feature: 23 Fields

FEATURE

23 Fields, an eclectic alternative folk act, released their hotly anticipated second album, To “Follow This Year's Fashion,” on April 1, 2024. Ever since the Dublin, Ireland-based group went from busking in pubs to their formation being confirmed by a fateful meeting, 23 Fields have certainly lived up to their name. Their debut record incorporated esteemed influences from folk, roots, and Americana while also exposing the band’s soul. Thirteen-track “To Follow This Year’s Fashion” spans themes of love, life, and the absurdity of being with a raw spirit. This is immediate, impassioned music; 23 Fields want you down in the dirt with them.

23 Fields’ new album, To Follow This Year's Fashion, is previewed through its lead single, “Berlin”. A folky tune that presents the playful nature of the group. A song that uses spirited acoustic notes, a soft violin, and a raspy vocalist places the audience back in time to the festive bars where the band entertained guests. While certainly not the song’s intended setting, you could almost imagine seeing 23 Fields playing infinitely with attractive grins while being a delight to be around for everyone. This was an excellent song to introduce the band’s new album. Make sure you check out the album, you will not be dissapointed.
